Welcome to Fox Creek Horse Camp

Fox Creek Horse Camp is located in Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. The primitive campground has a nice creek flowing thru it. It has 10 camping units and portable toilets. No potable water. Open field for camping. Hitching posts.

Most of the trails accessible from the Fox Creek Camp are well groomed. Many are converted logging trails and some follow the Forest Service Roads. The terrain is variable with quite a bit of up and down, although not terribly steep in most places. The Virginia Highlands Horse Trail passes through the camp and provides very picturesque riding. There are also some challenging trails. While most of the trails aren't too bad, expect some to be very rocky.

Directions: From I-81 west of Marion, take Hwy 16 south to Troutdale (about 15 miles). Turn west on Hwy 603 and go about 6 miles. The camp is on your right.
